New "Seal of Endorsement" offered from the Global Educator Institute
The Global Educator Institute has launched a new initiative labeled the “Seal of Endorsement.”
The Endorsement is a process in which new learning products are submitted to the GEI community for vetting. They are “judged using an in-depth evaluation rubric, designed by members of the GEI executive team.”
Once submitted, the team reviews feedback from the GEI community of educators, reviewers, and producers from across the globe.
Reviews by the executive team and feedback from the GEI community are how products receive the GEI Seal of Endorsement.
The review process is well thought-out as “products are shipped to classrooms in five school districts that match the target audience, and are used in the classroom for six weeks.” Teachers then rate the products.
CEO of GEI, Katy Bainbridge, said that Endorsement process was created to help educators and teachers participate in what learning concepts arrive in classrooms.
“Our goal is very simple. We want to help teachers and administrators choose the best-designed, most effective classroom products available. Products that receive our endorsement will have been used and vetted in classrooms by teachers from around the country,” Bainbridge said.
But the Endorsement isn’t automatic. In fact, less than 50 percent of all submissions have been granted the Seal of Endorsement, which elevates the quality of the items that are actually approved. With more than 100 years of experience among the executive team, and hundreds of registered teachers taking part in the process, the road towards receiving the Seal of Endorsement may be arduous, but worth it.
