How to Renew or Reinstate a Teachers License in Wyoming
Renewal of Teaching Certification
The Wyoming Professional Teachers Board requires educators to renew their teaching licensures every 5 years.
The initial step to renewing your license is to fill out an application page, found here.
Certification renewal application packets have to contain the following items:
- The Renewal Application Checklist
- Application Form
- Individual Conditions Form
- Fee Payment Form
- Transcripts
Educators must finish PD credits to be eligible for renewal. These conditions vary depending on the teacher’s licensure but generally require 5 PD/Renewal credits to complete.
Renewal credits are obtained from accredited institutions. Credits can also be obtained through obtaining National Board Certification.
Renewal credits have to meet standards. If you have questions about credit not counting toward renewal, contact the PTSB at (307) 777-7291.
Teaching Certification Reinstatement
If a teacher has held a Wyoming teacher’s license that has lapsed, they have to seek reinstatement.
Teachers who need to be reinstated have to meet all of the initial application conditions and submit their application to the PTSB:
