How to Renew or Reinstate a Teachers License in North Dakota
Renewal of Teaching Certification
After fulfilling the conditions and obtaining your Initial License to teach in North Dakota, you have to successfully teach for 18 months in a state school before applying for your Regular Professional License. You have to also have been under contract with a North Dakota school for at least 30 days within the past 5 years and have finished 6 PD renewal credits in that time.

Teaching Certification Reinstatement
If you have not held a North Dakota teaching license for more than 5 years, you can apply for re-entry. You have to have finished at least 4 credit hours of PD credit within the past 5 years to be eligible. If you sign a teaching contract during the licensure period, you have to complete eight credit hours of reeducation.You can use the same renewal form as above for reinstating your North Dakota teaching license.
