Defined STEM Releases Full Curriculum in Spanish at TCEA 2018
The project-based learning materials demonstrate the importance STEM subjects have on students’ college and career aspirations
(CHICAGO, IL) January 31, 2018 — Education technology company Defined Learning, today announced that it is releasing its Defined STEM project-based learning materials in Spanish. The web-based curriculum resource will be available in Spanish for grades K-8 by February 15, 2018.
“The feedback we have received on the English version of Defined STEM has been phenomenal,” stated Joel Jacobson, co-founder and chief operating officer of Defined Learning. “Based on feedback from our clients, we recognized the need for a Spanish version of Defined STEM. We are excited at the potential impact that our Spanish content can have for both educators and students.”
Defined STEM makes project-based learning easy for educators to implement by providing all of the essential project-design elements, including lessons, videos, and research resources for pre-K–12. Each performance task is based on a situation in a real-world STEM career and provides students the opportunity to apply their knowledge in a real-world context.
With the Spanish versions complete, Jacobson said, the company is reviewing other language opportunities. “Our goal is to impact all students by demonstrating the importance STEM subjects will have on their college and career aspirations,” said Jacobson. “We feel strongly that offering Defined STEM in Spanish will bring us closer to achieving that goal.
At the TCEA conference on February 7th and 8th, Defined Learning will discuss its Spanish resources and share its client’s success stories at the PR with Panache! Storytelling Suite. To make an appointment, please contact Susan Hanson.
