AbiódúnGòkè-Pariolá Named President of North Central College in Illinois
Naperville, IL – North Central College has appointed Dr.AbiódúnGòkè-Pariolá as its 17th president, making history as the first woman and first person of color to hold the position. Dr.Gòkè-Pariolá, a renowned scholar and experienced administrator, will assume her role on July 1, 2024.

Dr.Gòkè-Pariolá brings a wealth of experience to her new position. She currently serves as the provost and vice president for Academic Affairs at Whittier College in California, where she has overseen the development and implementation of academic programs, faculty recruitment and development, and student success initiatives. Prior to her role at Whittier, she held various leadership positions at the University of Redlands, including associate provost and dean of the College of Arts and Sciences.
Dr.Gòkè-Pariolá is a respected scholar with expertise in African American literature and culture, gender studies, and higher education. She is a prolific author and presenter, with her work appearing in numerous academic publications and conferences. Her commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion has been a hallmark of her career, and she is known for fostering a welcoming and inclusive campus environment.
