Deciding which college to attend can be a daunting task. For many, it will be the most important decision that they make in their lives. To make an informed decision, you have to consider a lot of variables, such as cost of attendance, financial aid, student-teacher ratio, academics, student life, and more. These factors will either positively or negatively impact the quality of education that you receive.

Do you want to acquire a master’s degree in supply chain management but don’t know what institution you should attend? Well, if you are as ambitious as I was in my late teens, then you want to attend a top school, instead of an average or mediocre one. Fortunately, we have already done the legwork for you. To help you find the right school for your interests and goals, we’ve compiled a list of 2022’s best master’s in supply chain management programs.

1. Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Cambridge, MA

Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) is rated among the top institutions in the nation. The Logistics degree program is offered as a partnership between MIT and Zaragoza University in Spain.

 MIT has hands-down the finest master’s in logistics degree. Its 10-month program requires 68 credits. Learners take classes covering concepts such as logistics facilities and operations, analytical methods, logistics systems, and supply chain strategy.

2. University of Southern California, Los Angeles, CA

USC’s curriculum goes beyond the classroom with research projects, case studies, and international trips. A sampling of classes includes logistics management; sourcing and supplier management; Lean operations; and data warehousing, business intelligence. Learners will have access to the international network of graduates from the Marshall Center for Global Supply Chain Management. Even more, they will have the chance to become certified in Lean Six Sigma or other logistics licensures.

3. Lehigh University, Bethlehem, PA

The Flex MBA at Lehigh University consists of a supply chain management concentration. This degree program enables learners to attend classes online or on campus—whichever fits their schedule. In total, learners take 36 credits. Core required classes in this concentration include strategic supply management, transportation and logistics management, and demand and supply chain planning. The Flex MBA degree program at Lehigh University allows learners to attend part time or full time through an accelerated degree program.

4. Northeastern University, Boston, MA

Northeastern University has an MBA degree program in supply chain management. This full-time degree program throws learners into the world of business and logistics from day one. They participate in a corporate residency degree program, a global project class, and a curriculum taught by sector leaders. Some stand-out classes that home in on logistics include logistics and transportation management, managing healthcare supply chain operations, sourcing and procurement, and supply chain analytics.

5. Boston University, Boston, MA

BU has a truly international vision; it maintains five other campuses across the world, including locations in Paris, Sydney, and London. Learners take ten classes (or 40 credits) to finish BU’s MS degree in supply chain management with a concentration in logistics management. The degree covers a variety of subjects, from international transportation to facility network design and beyond. Coursework in this concentration includes project management, quality management, strategic logistics management, and international trade and logistics. Boston University strongly encourages learners to participate in international study experiences to improve their comprehension of international business and economics.

6. Arizona State University, Tempe, AZ

ASU offers the master of science in global logistics. This degree program can be finished in as short as nine months. Featured classwork includes logistics in the supply chain; logistics, emerging markets, and economic development; and cases in global logistics.

7. The Ohio State University, Columbus, OH

Fisher College of Business at OSU is rated 4th in the nation for its supply chain management and logistics degree program. The Master of Business Logistics Engineering degree program at OSU requires about 15 months to finish to required 41 credit hours. Learners will take classes such as strategies for global success and startups and the planned economy. Learners in this degree program have been involved in the following projects:

8. North Carolina State University, Raleigh, NC

Its roughly 32,000 learners select from over 100 bachelor degrees, 104 master’s degrees, and 61 doctoral degrees. Supply chain management is one of the concentrations offered by NC State’s MBA program. In this degree program, learner cover several logistics and operations classes, including supply chain logistics, business process design and analysis, planning and control systems, and supply chain practicum. This degree program can be completed for under $50,000, which is somewhat rare compared with other MBA programs.

9. Michigan State University, East Lansing, MI

MSU offers a full-time logistics management MBA degree program. This degree program assumes that learners have had previous work experience in logistics or supply chain management. Coursework includes the study of integrated logistics systems, supply chain logistics, emerging topics in logistics management, and operations strategy.

10. Purdue University, West Lafayette, IN

Purdue University grants admission to the fourth-largest international learner population in the nation. In 2019, it was rated as the 20th best public institution in the U.S. The MBA at Purdue University has a supply chain and logistics concentration. Learners select two classes from each group. A sampling might include management of service operations, logistics, strategic sourcing and purchasing management, and new product design.

This degree program also includes numerous business-related international trips in which learners can participate. The opportunities consist of classes such as business in Spain and Europe, international internship in India, or strategies in Italian entrepreneurship.

11. Florida Institute of Technology, Melbourne, FL

Florida Institute of Technology is a private research institution that emphasizes STEM programs. In the MS degree program in Logistics Management, learners will complete 33 credits in nine core classes and two elective classes. Learners attend classes at any of seven in-person locations or online. Some of the highlighted core classes are systems and logistics support management, inventory control and management, cost and economic analysis, and logistics policy. Learners have the option of specializing in humanitarian and disaster relief.

12. University of Wisconsin-Whitewater, Whitewater, WI

Learners earn an MBA with a concentration in supply chain management, which covers the same territory as logistics. The concentration requires nine credit hours or three focused classes. Coursework may include supply chain systems, global operations strategy, quality issues in operations, and management of innovation. Learners have the option of completing the MBA online; he degree program is designed exactly like the on-campus degree program—same classes, same teachers, same curriculum.

13. University of Maryland-College Park, College Park, MD

University of Maryland, College Park takes an international approach to its MS in supply chain management. Learners move through this degree program with a tight cohort, but they have the option of completing it in either 16 or 10months. The curriculum includes classes such as global trade logistics, assessing and managing supply chain risks, project management, and global transportation management.

14. University of Washington, Seattle, WA

The master of supply chain transportation gives learner a hybrid degree program that couples online learning with an on-campus residency. Learners take a total of nine classes, the first of which (Logistics and Analysis) they will take on the Seattle campus. This degree program may be mostly online, and learners can expect to spend about five hours of engagement per week. This could consist of live lectures that are held once a week as well as self-directed study.

15. University of Minnesota-Twin Cities, Minneapolis, MN

The University of Minnesota-Twin Cities is a public research institution. It has a large learner body (6th largest in the US) of over 51,000 undergraduate and graduate students. It is organized among 19 academic colleges. The Carlson School of Management administers the MS in supply chain management. This is a robust curriculum that gets learners through the degree program in just one year. The required 32 credit hours include classes such as logistics and transportation, managing technologies in the supply chain, big data analytics in supply chains, and strategic sourcing.
