St Louis, MO, is a city with a lot to offer. There are plenty of things to do in the area, including hiking and biking trails. - Creve Coeur Lake
This lake is an artificial lake in St. Louis County, Missouri. Creve lake offers sandy beaches, picnic tables, and playgrounds for families to enjoy the outdoors and is home to a fishing pier that lets you catch your dinner!
The park has numerous activities for kids of all ages—including an outdoor amphitheater where performances occur throughout the year. In addition to water sports like swimming or boating (which includes renting kayaks), there are plenty of ways you can enjoy yourself on land: hike through this beautiful park!
- Castlewood State Park
Castlewood State Park is in Jefferson County, Missouri, a great place for boating and swimming during summer. This park has many attractions for visitors of all ages, including fishing piers and hiking trails.
Castlewood State Park Beach is one of the best beaches near St Louis that you can visit on your travels around town! North Avenue Beach is at 2700 North Avenue in Downtown St Louis Park — just a short walk from Union Station and Lindell Station (both major train stations). - Finger Lakes State Park
Finger Lakes State Park Beach is located in St. Charles County, Missouri, and offers parking for $2 per car. The park opens at 7:00 am and closes at 10:00 pm, and there are no entry fees to enter the beach area (although you will need to pay for parking).
You can find Finger Lakes State Park Beach by traveling south on Interstate 70 from Lambert International Airport and west on Route 141 from O’Fallon, Illinois. Or, north on Route 100 from Frontenac, Missouri — whichever route you choose; it’s easy to find once you’re there!

Wakonda State Park Beach is located in St. Louis, Missouri, and is open daily from 10 am to 6 pm. Restrooms are public at this location if you need them, but there’s also a restaurant called “Trader Joe’s” that serves food year-round.

- Public Beach #1
This Public beach is on 1400 N University City Blvd, St. Louis. Free parking is available at the beach weekly and on weekends. You may also park in nearby garages if you prefer not to leave your car at the beach.
Restrooms are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week during the summer months (April-October). There are no restrooms on-site, but they’re only a short walk away from Public Beach #1. Amenities at the beach include Picnic tables with umbrellas; lifeguards on duty every day from 8 am until 6 pm; a concession stand selling snacks/drinks for purchase at reasonable prices; free Wi-Fi available throughout the entire park grounds
- Rocky Falls Beach
